Animals from all over the Hudson Valley attended the first annual WPDH Pet Costume Show. Our "red carpet" correspondent, former Miss Ulster County Jennifer DeLora, takes a look at the cute, creative and hilarious pets that walked the runway on Saturday.

Starting on Monday, listeners can vote at WPDH.com for their favorite costumed pets to help decide the winner. With almost 70 contestants to choose from, it's not an easy task. We had dogs dressed as princesses, prisoners, witches, baseball players and even cheerleaders. There was even a reptile that entered the contest in a custom-made dragon costume.

The event was designed to benefit the Pets Alive Animal Sanctuary in Middletown. We raised hundreds of dollars and much needed supplies to help keep the shelter running through the winter. If you'd like to help out, please visit their website for more information.

Special thanks to Newburgh Veterinary Hospital, T.E.G. Federal Credit Union, Petco and Chocolate Mousse Catering for their help in making our first annual event a success.
