Styx released their seventh studio album The Grand Illusion was recorded at Chicago's Paragon Recording Studios and released on July 7, 1977 on A&M Records. It would launch the band into stardom with hit singles "Come Sail Away" and "Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man", going on to sell over three million copies in the U.S. alone achieving triple platinum status. The album is considered to be the bands's breakthrough album and one of their best.
