Kiss released their sixth studio album Love Gun June 30, 1977 on Casablanca Records. The album celebrates it's 40th anniversary this month. It was the first album to feature a lead vocal appearance by Ace Frehley making it the first album to feature vocal performances by all the band members. It was also the last album to feature Peter Criss on every song. Criss would be replaced by session drummer Anton Fig on the majority of the band's follow up album Dynasty in 1979. Love Gun was certified platinum for over a million copies sold.
