With the first confirmed case of Ebola hitting our shores, the country is in panic mode. However, Ebola is not nearly as dangerous as a virus already infecting Americans at an alarming rate. Influenze, or the flu, kills up to 50,000 Americans every year.  And, unlike Ebola, it's spread through the air.  You can only catch Ebola through direct contact with body fluids from an infected person who is already showing symptoms.  The flu, however, can spread just by walking next to someone.

The good news?  There is a vaccine for the Flu.  Get it and protect yourself.  And if you're wary of the flu shot just ask yourself what would happen if an Ebola vaccine was made available this week?  You'd probably see lines longer than the ones for the iPhone 6.

So while there's no vaccine for a disease that's hard to get and hasn't killed anyone in our country, there is still a very effective one that protects against a virus that kills tens of thousands of Americans a year.  Do the math and think about protecting your family this fall.
