The fall occurred 100 feet from the chairlift loading area and the lap bar was down at the time of the accident, authorities told WNYT.

A Brooklyn woman died Sunday after falling off a ski lift at Hunter Mountain, the Times Union reports.

The unidentified 44-year-old fell from the ski lift at the resort in the Catskills around 2 p.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene, the New York State Police told the newspaper.

Authorities are investigating what led to the accident but details are limited at this time, CBS 6 Albany reported.
