Today's icy road conditions turned deadly as one New York City woman has died. According to Sullivan County Public Safety Director Dick Martinkovic, an accident on Rt 17, near Monticello, involving five tractor trailers and two cars occurred at around 3:30 a.m. The woman's name has not been released. The accident shut down the portion of Route 17 between exits 107 and 109. Freezing rain began falling in parts of the area at around 3 am today, which made driving hazardous for many. According to the Times Herald Record, Sullivan County is preparing for more wintery weather as 3 to 8 inches of snow is expected to fall by this evening. Read more HERE
