Can you believe that 2019 marks the 80th anniversary of the Wizard of Oz? Released back in 1939, the tale of Dorothy, the Tin Man, Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion, and of course little Toto on their journey to the Emerald City.  The Wizard of Oz returns to the big screen for 3 dates at the end of January as part of Turner Classic Movies Big Screen Classics 2019 series.

Thankfully for us in the Hudson Valley, we can head off to see the wizard at the theater in Poughkeepsie or Millerton during the limited engagement dates - Sunday January 27th, Tuesday January 29th, or Wednesday January 30th.  Showtimes and information about other participating theaters can be found HERE.

According to Fathom Events, all of the screenings "will include commentary before and after the film, with special movie insights by Turner Classic Movies Primetime host Ben Mankiewicz."

So, what do you say, are you ready to grab some popcorn and click your heels together for a trip down memory lane?
