Will we be seeing more movies and more celebrities filming here in the Hudson Valley?

The Poughkeepsie Journal is reporting that the NY Film Production Tax Credit is offering an additional ten percent tax break for companies shooting films or shows across the Hudson Valley. Counties already can provide up to thirty percent back for most work on films and shows shot in New York.

The New York state Legislature approved the additional film-tax break for Dutchess, Orange, Ulster, Putnam, Sullivan, Green, and Columbia Counties. Other counties, such as Warren, Saratoga, Washington, Rensselaer, and Suffolk also were included.

The state already has the largest production program in the country, at over $420 million a year.

According to the Hudson Valley Film Commission, filming in the region generated more than $8.25 million in spending in 2015.
