This is definitely one of the stranger stories of a very strange election year.

People passing by Union Square in Manhattan Thursday were probably shocked to see a life-size naked statue of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Hundreds took to social media, posing pictures of themselves along side the odd sculpture. What in the heck is going on here?

Seems New York wasn't the only place that witnessed the naked likeness of the Donald. The statues were also Thursday seen in San Fransisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Cleveland, and Seattle, according to NBC News.

It seems the bizarre stunt was a form of protest put together by a group called INDECLINE. The political group said in a statement, that they hope Trump "is never installed in the most powerful political and military position in the world."

The nightmare inducing sculptures are reportedly the work of an artist from Cleveland.

It didn't take long for NYC Parks Department officials to act. According to NBC New York the Trump statue in Union Square was removed by 1:15 p.m. Thursday.

The Parks Department said in an official statement:

NYC Parks stands firmly against any unpermitted erection in city parks, no matter how small.

Okay, then. Least they had a sense of humor about it.
