Who’s Got the Best Pizza in the State, Outside of New York City?
It's an age old debate that is sure to evoke strong reactions. It's kind of like watching people argue over who's the greatest N.F.L. quarterback of all time, or what's the best television show of all time.
Of course, many critics will tell you that if you want the best pizza, then you've got to go to New York City. According to the Daily Meal's 2018 list, seven out of the top ten best pizzas in the U.S. all hail from New York City.
But what if we eliminated the city and some of the immediate suburbs from contention, and gave the rest of the state a chance to shine as well? After all, there are a lot of hidden gems in the Empire State, and according to NY Upstate, several are right here in the Hudson Valley.
As they did recently with the list of upstate's best food trucks, NY Upstate took the best scores and reviews from Yelp, and compiled this impressive list.
And it looks like Rhinebeck's very own Pizzeria Posto took the top honors for 2018. The Yelp reviews call it the best pizza in the Hudson Valley, while praising the restaurant for their fresh ingredients and tasty crust.
Second on the list also goes to a Hudson Valley spot, with Slices of Saugerties. According to their Facebook, the restaurant opened in November 2012 and offers a New American and Italian menu open for lunch and dinner.
