The Hudson Valley is not immune from the Ashley Madison data breach, as tens of thousands of local residents appear in the cheating website's database.

Of course we won't reveal the names of the married local residents who had paid accounts on Ashley Madison, but we will reveal which town has the most people signed up.

Thanks to a Reddit user's interactive map we can pinpoint geographic locations using data from the Ashley Madison leak.  According to the map, Kingston leads our area in cheating spouses with 7.5 thousand residents who have profiles on the website. If the data is correct, that works out to an incredible 31% of the population. Poughkeepsie was second with 6,190 (19%) and Newburgh was third with 5,799 (20%).

There are some glitches in the data which lets Middletown residents off a little easy. Only 22 Mechanichstown residents appear in the database, which is technically Middletown. So either spouses in Middletown are extremely faithful or there are many more that aren't accounted for because of the way the geographical data is coded (choose what you want to believe).

We listed the top 10 cities below.

  1. Kingston - 7,540
  2. Poughkeepsie - 6,190
  3. Newburgh - 5,799
  4. Wappingers Falls - 2,190
  5. New Windsor - 1,820
  6. Hopewell - 1,408
  7. Fishkill - 1,229
  8. Beacon - 950
  9. New Paltz - 946
  10. Saugerties - 840

If your town isn't on the list that doesn't mean you're in the clear. You can check out the map for yourself to see what's really going on in your neighborhood.
