If you missed out on getting tickets to opening night of Star Wars: The Last Jedi during Monday Night Football, there still may be a chance for you to grab them today.

Ticket sales went live on Fandango and at local theaters during the first quarter of the Vikings and Bears game. The film officially opens on Friday, December 15 but special fan showings will be held on Thursday night as early as 6pm.

There are three ways to see the latest Star Wars installment early. You can get tickets for a fan showing at 6pm which includes special giveaways and exclusive footage; a double feature of The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi that starts around 3:30pm and, in select markets, a marathon of all eight Star Wars films leading up to the 6pm premiere of the new film.

Here in the Hudson Valley there are limited fan showings, and not many options if you prefer to see it either standard format or 3D.  For example, right now there is just one showing at 6pm at the Regal Cinemas in the Poughkeepsie Galleria. It's in 3D, and there are no double features available. However, we talked to the box office yesterday and they said that they may add other options, including a double feature, as early as Tuesday.

In Middletown the AMC Crystal Run 16 has one showing at 6pm only in standard format. Just like in Poughkeepsie, there are other showings scheduled after 7pm in both formats, but they do not include the giveaways, extra footage or other fan exclusives.

Star Wars fans in Ulster County are going to have to travel if they want to check out the special fan screenings, currently there are none being offered. Regular showings of the film begin after 7pm.

It's expected that the special fan premieres and all regular showings of The Last Jedi will sell out way before the December premiere. So if you want to be there on opening night, it's a good idea to grab your tickets now before they're all gone. Of course, if you don't need to see it on the first day, there will be plenty of showings scheduled throughout the holiday season so you 'll have ample opportunity to check out the latest Star Wars installment.
