Everyone's favorite drink of the 90's is back and hitting store shelves in the Hudson Valley. Have you found Ecto Cooler yet?

Hi-C created Ecto Cooler in 1987 as a promotional tie-in for the Ghostbusters cartoon series. But the popularity of this green-colored orange drink long outlived the series, gaining loyal fans who were crushed when the flavor was eventually discontinued in the late 90s.

In college, our alcoholic drink of choice was Ecto Cooler and rum. We entertained important guests by bringing out the fancy metal can of Ecto Cooler and mixing it with whatever cheap rum we could find. Talk about classy.

Well, in celebration of the release of the new "Ghostbusters" reboot on July 15, HI-C has resurrected Ecto Cooler and has been slowly rolling it out to stores across the country. Over the past few weeks Hudson Valley residents have been reporting limited supplies at both Shop Rite and Price Chopper stores throughout the area. Stop and Shop, Wal-Mart and Target are also supposed to begin getting supplies, but they haven't been confirmed in our area yet.

In addition to Ecto Cooler, another "Ghostbusters" promotional tie-in has also been released in limited quantities. Hostess has created special "Key-Lime Slime" Twinkies. The green creme-filled Twinkies are a limited edition and only available at "select stores." We haven't been able to find any in the Hudson Valley at all. Have you? They're currently listed on Amazon.com for over $15 a box with shipping.

Keep those reports coming in as to where you've seen Ecto Cooler and the new Ghostbusters Twinkies. You can post your sightings in the comments section below or on our official Facebook page.
