When does the Hudson Valley thinks it's acceptable to start playing Christmas music?

Growing up our family had a very strict rule: There is to be no Christmas music played until Santa arrives at the end of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

There was never any discussion or debate about this rule, but the minute Santa waved to the crowds of people gathered at Herald Square everyone knew that it would be nonstop Johnny Mathis and Bing Crosby until December 26.

It wasn't until I was much older that I realized that this wasn't some sort of national edict or supreme court ruling. Some people, in fact, kick into holiday mode as early as November 1. Apparently even though I was raised to believe playing Perry Como the day after Halloween was blasphemy,  some people have no problem with it at all.

We're curious to find out what the Hudson Valley thinks about Christmas Music. When is it too soon for Jingle Bells in your house?
