So, I am probably the last to notice this, but Andy's Place 45 Dutchess Ave, Poughkeepsie has closed.

Imagine this for a moment if you will. It is a glorious Sunday afternoon, your sister is in town visiting, we have about an hour or so until she has to meet her train. Where do you go? Sis had just told me that her office picked her to represent her branch in a work based chili cook off. So, see where my thoughts are going?

I told her I was going to take her to the place that served the biggest bowl of chili in the area, with diced onions and cheese on it, and that if she wanted to win friends and influence chili judges, she needed to have the one voted the best by readers of Hudson Valley Magazine, many years in a row.

So as I pulled off of Route 9, I immediately noticed, that parking was going to be too easy, every space was available. I then proceed to get out of the car to check if they were just closed on Sunday. Well, technically, they are closed every Sunday and every other day of the week.

Thank you to Andy and the Tkazyik family and staff, that with their great food, cold drinks and big smiles served the Hudson Valley.

Have you ever not found out one of your favorites was closed? What's the place?
