What’s New York State’s Most Searched Costume for 2018?

It can be a be a hassle sometimes planning a Halloween costume. There's just so many choices.

Many people will draw inspiration for their costumes from the year's biggest movies, television shows, news stories, or even internet memes. Some people get pretty creative.

But if you were curious what residents in the state of New York were dressing up as this year, look no further. The website FrightGeist put together a report taking the most searched costume ideas on the internet from around the country. According to the data, looks like New Yorkers, and most of the country, are really into Fortnite.

The popular online third-person "shoot em up" game has drawn over 125 million players in just over a year. There are a number of variations of characters; such as Outlanders, Ninjas, Soldiers, and Constructors.

On fact, the game is so huge, that it's the number one most searched costume in all but seven states.

2. Spider-Man
3. Unicorn
4. Dinosaur
5. Witch
