What’s Happening This Weekend in the Hudson Valley

July is almost over. If you feel that this summer is slipping by you, get friends and family together and head out this weekend to explore some of the many events going on throughout the Hudson Valley.

Saturday, July 23: First ever Mid-Hudson Valley Run For Heroes at Arlington High School. There will be a 5K run/ruck and an 8K run/ruck (ruck is short for rucksack, a term used by the military for a run with a heavy backpack). This race honors all first responders and military service members. Race begins at 8. Saturday, July 23, 10-12: Celebrate Sullivan Spaces Gardening Class at Renaissance Park in Livingston Manor. Join this free class and learn about invasive plants and their alternatives. Saturday, July 23, 10-4: The 85th Annual Woodstock Library Fair. A $2 donation at the gate will get you into this annual event where you can browse for books in the Book Barn, find treasures in the rummage sale, enjoy the exhibitor tent, and more. Saturday, July 23-Sunday, July 24: It's a Revolutionary War Weekend, sponsored by the Warwick Historical Society. It all begins at the A.W. Buckbee Center in Warwick where you'll travel to Fort Decker and the Minisink Battlefield. You would leave Warwick at 1:15, with a short stop halfway at 2 at Revolutionary Fort Decker in Port Jervis, then arrives at the battlefield park around 3 for a walk around the easy interpretive pathway with the commemoration ceremony at 4. For other events going on in Orange County this weekend,click here.
