What’s Happening This Weekend in the Hudson Valley

April is ending and May is beginning this weekend. While we may have cloudy skies this weekend, that's no reason to stay home. Get out and have some fun this weekend all around the Hudson Valley.

Saturday, April 30; 8:30-noon: 5th Annual Anti-Bullying Walkathon-Hero Walk on The Walkway Over the Hudson, sponsored by the Dutchess County Center of Mediation. Walk to help end bullying, you can walk as an individual or part of a team. Create a page and tell your story as to why you're walking. Proceeds support the Center's Anti-Bullying Initiative, which includes expanding prevention and response resources to effectively address bullying right here in the Hudson Valley.

Saturday, April 30; 1-3: Seed Swap at The Cutting Garden in Youngsville. Bring some seeds to swap, meet and talk with other gardeners, and celebrate spring! Get your garden ready for another  great season of growing.

Saturday, April 30, 1-9 pm to Sunday, May 1, 10-5 pm: Woodstock Story Festival at The Mountainview Studio. This festival celebrates story in all its forms and features guest presenters who have established themselves at the forefront of the national storytelling movement. This festival is for anyone who believes in the power of storytelling. The full two-day festival admission price is $150; single day tickets are $95; meals and lodging are not included.

Saturday, April 30; 9-3: Hike-A-Thon, an Earth Day Celebration. For the tenth year, hikers can participate in the Hike-A-Thon with a variety of trails to choose from at the Outdoor Discovery Center at Hudson Highlands Nature Museum. There will be guided and independent hikes ranging from easy to more vigorous hikes. Check in begins at 9, hikes start at 9:45.  The Museum’s Earth Day Celebration will follow the Hike-A-Thon with activities 11-3 with live music, farm animals, hay rides, Green Zone and more! Rain date is Sun May 1.
