Spring may have finally arrived in time for this weekend. With blue skies, sunshine, and warmer temperatures, it's the perfect time to get out and explore some fun events throughout the Hudson Valley.

 

Saturday, April 16; 10 am: Kiwanis Family Walk for Hunger. Join the Sullivan County Kiwanis Clubs from Callicoon, Monticello and Woodridge at the Mountaindale Fire House with registration starting at 9 am.  The walk will step off at 10 am at the Rails to Trails, behind the fire house.  The walk is open to the public and the entrance fee is either a donation of one or more non-perishable food items or a monetary contribution.  Water and refreshments will be available to all walkers.

Saturday, April 16; 9:30-12:00: Middle Main and Fallkill Clean-Up in Poughkeepsie with Hudson Valley Young Professionals. Join the Environmental Cooperative, Middle Main Initiative, and United Way to clean up parts of Falkill as well as Main street, materials will be provided. Afterwards stay and enjoy the Poughkeepsie Earth Day Celebration with a children's parade, farmer's market, food vendors, and more.

Saturday, April 16; 10-4: Kingston Antique Show and Flea Market at the Murphy Mid-Town Center  See a wide variety of antiques, unique items, collectibles and crafts, as well as all manner of new and used items. Admission is $5 for adult, children under 12 free. If you bring a non-perishable food item for the People’s Place food pantry in Kingston, you'll get $1 off your admission.

Saturday, April 16; 10-12: Learn about gardening to attract Butterflies to your yard and help preserve these amazing insects. A Musuem educator, from the Outdoor Discovery Center at Hudson Highlands Museum in Cornwall, will lead a program to give you ideas and suggestions about planting nectar plants for adult butterflies and host plants for caterpillars, which can help to increase the butterfly population. You'll also get to take home a free caterpillar host plant for your yard. Children age 10 and older welcome to attend. Pre-paid registration is required, although walk-ins are welcome if  space allows.
