We all have those words or phrases that drive us nuts. You may cringe just thinking about them.

But what is America's least favorite word or phrase used in conversation?

Well, according to the results from a recent national poll conducted at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, the term "whatever" annoys most Americans.

This isn't the first time the dismissive term has come out on top either. Last year, "whatever" received 40 percent of the votes compared to 38 percent in 2016.

Second on the list was the phrase "no offense, but" which came in at 20 percent. Third was a tie between "You know, right" and "I can't even,"  which both racked 14 percent of the votes.

The poll surveyed 1,005 adults from Dec. 1-9.

So do you agree or disagree?

While "whatever" certainly can be annoying due to its overuse and disrespectful tone, is it really any more cringe worthy than other words in the English language like "moist," "phlegm," "chunky" or "panty"?
