A West Point sweater purchased for .58 cents at Goodwill turned out to be worth $20,000.

According to CBS Sports, Sean McEvoy from Asheville, North Carolina bought the vintage sweater and then didn't think twice about it. That is, until he sat down with his wife to watch a documentary on Vince Lombardi.

McEvoy thought it was quite a coincidence that the sweater he purchased looked just like the one Lombardi was wearing in an old photo shown during the film. It was then that McEvoy's wife, Rikki, remembered that she noticed a name tag in the sweater that said "Lombardi."

The sweater was confirmed to be authentic by a Dallas auction house so the first thing McEvoy did was call the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The museum was very interested in taking the sweater as a donation. The couple quickly turned them down, realizing that what they had was extremely valuable.

They were right. The .58 cent sweater they purchased is expected to fetch $20,000 at auction later this month.
