A Texas man is recovering after a bullet ricocheted and struck him in the head. The nature of the incident is what is so unusual. Cass County (TX) Sheriff's officials are investigating after the man said he fired his gun at an armadillo just before 3 am near Marietta, TX. KLTV reports that the bullet ricocheted off the animal, striking the man in the head. The trigger happy Texan was taken to the hospital and treated for injuries that officials say are 'minor'. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Oddly enough, this is not the first time a gunshot injury has resulted from an armadillo shooting. Earlier in 2015, a Georgia man accidentally shot his mother-in-law when the bullet ricocheted off of the heavily armored mammal. The mother-in-law survived.
