Wednesday, June 3: Remembering Keyboardist Billy Powell of Lynyrd Skynyrd on His Birthday

We remember Lynyrd Skynyrd keyboardist Billy Powell today (June 3) on what would have been his 63rd birthday. Billy Powell was the longtime keyboardist for Lynyrd Skynyrd from 1970 until is death in 2009.

Powell, along with Lynyrd Skynyrd, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame  in 2006. A live concert 2CD/DVD set entitled Lynyrd Skynyrd: One More fore The Fans is due out July 24.
