Wednesday, July 27: Rock Birthdays

Happy Birthday today (July 27) to drummer Bobby Rondinelli who played with Rainbow, Black Sabbath, and others. He's 61. Other rockers celebrating bassist Rex Brown from Pantera (52) and drummer Abe Cunningham from Deftones (43).

Bobby Rondinelli is probably best known as a member of Rainbow in the early 80’s, and he also has spent some time in the 90’s playing with bands including Quiet Riot, Black Sabbath, and Blue Oyster Cult. Rondinelli was announced as the new drummer in the Axel Rudi Pell band in 2013 and he has played on the last two albums. Bassist Rex Brown who is best known for his work with Pantera wrote an autobiography about his life in the band called Official Truth 101 Proof. The book was released in 2013. He played in the band Down with singer Phil Anselmo from 2001-2011 and currently plays in the band Kill Devil Hill.
