The New York Jets lost to the Atlanta Falcons 25-20 in a mess of a game at MetLife Stadium. It was the Jets third straight defeat as they fall to 3-5 for the season.

The weather played a huge factor as torrential rain and strong wind blasted a half empty stadium Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately however, while one could easily blame the heavy rain, the Jets own mistakes also cost them dearly in the fourth quarter.

Only down by two, the Jet's Jeremy Kerley misplayed a punt that gave the ball back to the Falcon deep in Jets territory. This, along with carless penalties and other turnovers are what sank Gang Green even though they lead for most of the game.

And while quarterback Josh McCown had a decent game (223 yards, 2 touchdowns), the Jets couldn't get anything going on the ground as they rushed for only 43 yards all afternoon.

New York will play agin this Thursday night as they host the Buffalo Bills at 8:30 p.m.
