An ill advised joke lead to all of this. A 54 year old passenger on a US Airways flight from Philadelphia to the Dominican Republic had joked out loud, in front of other passengers..."I have Ebola, you are all screwed". The man later joked that he had been to Africa as well. Obviously, this is not the time for wise remarks like this, so taking every precaution...the plane was boarded by health officials in hazmat suits, upon landing at Punta Cana Airport. After a thorough investigation, it was determined that the man had not been to Africa, did not have Ebola, nor had been around anyone who carried the virus. This, of course, was all determined two hours later...as all the other poor passengers had to sit there and endure all of this. The incident was caught on camera and was later uploaded to YouTube

The Ministry spokesman explained that at 2:30 in the afternoon a high ranking officer of the Specialized Corps of Airport Security and an executive from the Punta Cana Airport notified the Director General of Epidemiology that the captain of the US Airways aircraft reported the passenger from Philadelphia.

Rosario Bourdierd revealed that the passenger is an American, 54 years of age, with no history of flying to areas affected by Ebola or contact with any sick persons.
