A powerful storm system continues to ravage the south and midwest, with numerous reports of severe storms and tornadoes stretching from Nebraska to Alabama. A scary situation was caught live on television the other day as Chief Meteorologist Matt Laubhan,  of WTVA in Tupelo, MS, was reporting as a large tornado approached the station, eventually knocking the broadcast off the air. Power has since been restored to the station, and fortunately there are no reports of causalities from Tupelo. There was extensive damage to the area however.

Sadly, though at least 18 people have died in other storms across the region, including a massive tornado which struck just north of Little Rock, AR on Sunday..
