According to the Ulster County Fire & Rescue Incidents Facebook page, a large fire broke out at a structure this afternoon in Highland at 171 Chapel Hill Road. The building is still burning and several area Fire Departments have been called to the scene and there is a report of one burn victim.

Some residents have reported that they felt what seemed like an explosion, although that cannot be confirmed at this point in this developing story. Traffic around this area is being re-routed. We will update this story as we get more information throughout the evening.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the men and women fighting this blaze and for anyone impacted by this awful event this afternoon.
