According to the NY Daily News, Lisa Colagrossi of WABC/Channel 7 died Friday after suffering a brain aneurysm while returning from a live report in Queens. The 49-year-old Colagrossi was reportedly taken to New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center’s neurological ICU on Thursday and was placed on life support. She never regained consciousness.

Dave Davis, the president and general manager of WABC-TV said

Lisa Colagrossi embodied the Eyewitness News spirit—a straightforward reporter who told the truth, empathetic to the everyday citizens of the New York area, and demanding of those in power.

 

 

Colagrossi joined WABC in 2001 on the morning show as a reporter. She is survived by her husband and two sons, ages 11 and 14.
