A vehicle crashed through an apartment like the Kool-Aid man over the weekend. Luckily, nobody was injured.

On Sunday, at approximately 5:00 a.m. the New Paltz Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle that crashed into a building at the Meadowbrook Apartment Complex.

Responding officers located the apartment in which the vehicle had crashed into, but the vehicle had left the scene. Officers checked the area, locating the vehicle in an adjacent parking lot unoccupied.

Upon further investigation, police identified Sean C. Cramsie, 22, of New Paltz as the operator of the vehicle. He was located at an apartment complex. Cramsie was taken into custody and brought to police headquarters.

Cramsie was charged with two counts of Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident Without Reporting. He was released with traffic tickets.

The apartment was occupied at the time of the crash, but the residents were uninjured. Occupants of the building were sleeping at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported.

The apartment has been deemed uninhabitable by the Town Building Inspector and the occupants were relocated with the assistance of the Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross.
