I never really understood why people would do something like this.

According to the Times Herald Record, anti-Semitic vandals have hit a Jewish cemetery in Orange County over the weekend.

It all happened at the Temple Beth Shalom, which is located in the Village of Florida in Orange County.

Vandals spray painted large black swastikas across a stone wall that is right in the front of the cemetery and also spray painted the words Heil Hitler and the letters "SS."

Temple President Jon Gottlieb told the Record that he received a phone call from the Warwick police on Sunday about the vandalism and believes that this was premeditated.

The Temple sits across the street from the St. Joseph’s Cemetery which belongs to the Catholic church in Florida. The cemetery was not touched by the vandals and that lead Gottlieb to say, “Obviously, someone came with premeditated intentions, this was very well thought out.”

Warwick police are investigating the crime and are asking if you have any information about the vandalism, to please contact them at (845) 986-3423.
