The identities of the drivers and additional details regarding the head on collision with the school bus have been released.

As we previously reported, on May. 7, 2018 at approximately 8:00 a.m. Hyde Park Police were dispatched e area of South Quaker Lane and Dana Place for a school bus vs car head on auto accident with possible ejection.

The investigation revealed that a 2002 Honda Civic operated by Tondra Lashae Walker, 19, of Poughkeepsie was traveling North on South Quaker, when her vehicle left the roadway and went onto the right shoulder. She attempted to bring the vehicle back into the northbound lane, over-corrected, entered the southbound lane and was struck by the school bus.

Walker was partially ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The operator of the bus,  James Damico, 63, of Germantown along with three students and a bus monitor were all transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

The Hyde Park Police Department and Dutchess County Sheriff's are still investigating the accident.
