Julie Roberts resigned from her position as Principal at Millbrook High School Monday morning just five school days on the job. At the time the reason for her quick departure was unknown.

Now the Poughkeepsie Journal reports, Roberts resigned to take a similar position in the Pine Plains Central School District. It’s expected that Roberts will officially be named the principal at the Seymour Smith Intermediate Learning Center. The Pine Plains school board will decide on the hiring at their monthly meeting tonight.

Roberts would be returning to the position she held at Seymour Smith Intermediate Learning Center for the 2014-2015 school year. She left the third-fifth grade elementary school in August to take the position at Millbrook High School.

Tuesday was Roberts last day at Millbrook. It’s believed she second guessed her decision to jump from Pine Plains to Millbrook. The Millbrook School District plans to start another search to find a replacement. Roberts previously beat out over 70 applicants.

If the Pine Plains board appoints Roberts as Principal at the elementary school, she will likely be accepting a drastic pay cut. Her salary at Pine Plains last year was $99,500. While her salary as the Millbrook High School Principal was approved by the Millbrook Board of Education at $122,000.

If Roberts is appointed Wednesday she will begin her position at Pine Plains on Thursday.
