If you're traveling to parts of Central and Western New York over the next couple of days, please take note. Meteorologists say that lake-effect snow is expected to drop about two feet of snow by the middle of the week. The heaviest snowfall is expected for Tuesday and Wednesday

The National Weather Service has issued lake-effect snow warnings for areas east of lakes Erie and Ontario. Forecasters say up to 30 inches is expected north of Syracuse.

Winds could gust as high as 40 mph, according to meteorologists. This could lead to white out conditions.

While nothing nearly as severe is expected for the Hudson Valley, forecasters say snow showers are possible Tuesday afternoon and evening. Amounts could range from a dusting to up to an inch in some areas.
