An Ulster County woman who allegedly fled to Florida to avoid charges she stole close to $15,000 in welfare benefits was found.

On Monday, Jenna Fabbie, 33, of Kingston was extradited back from Florida to Ulster County and pleaded guilty to third-degree welfare fraud.

Over a nearly three-year period, Fabbie illegally received $14,521.50 from the Ulster County Department of Social Services by failing to report income being earned by her and by incorrectly reporting members in her household, according to the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office.

Fabbie is expected to receive 90 days in jail when sentenced in August. It is also assumed that Fabbie will be ordered to repay the money she illegally received and will be disqualified from receiving Food Stamp assistance for two years and public assistance benefits for 18 months.
