Lumber that was to be used for Christmas Tree stands was taken from a Boy Scouts of America Christmas Tree display in the Burlington Coat Factory parking lot at 1375 Ulster Ave. in the town of Ulster and, according to the Daily Freeman, 49-year Eugene Dewitt Jr. of Accord, is accused of allegedly taking that lumber. Apparently 59 pieces were taken.

The Daily Freeman is reporting that, according to police, witnesses saw Dewitt loading the lumber into the bed of his pick-up. After some help from the Ulster County sheriff’s deputies, apparently Dewitt’s pickup was located at his home, the stolen lumber still in the bed of the truck.

Dewitt was arrested without incident and released with a ticket to appear in Ulster Town Court, according to the Daily Freeman. This isn't the first time the Boy Scouts have had items stolen from the same location, in 2012 60 Christmas trees were taken and, according to the Daily Freeman, Adams Fairacre Farms donated more trees to the Boy Scouts.

Maybe they should consider changing locations.
