U2's latest album 'Songs of Innocence" was shoved down nearly half a billion people's throats earlier  this month. The album was released through iTunes and was free to anybody who had an iTunes account.

U2 has now released the cover of the album (seen above), in preparation of the actual physical release of the album. The physical album of ‘Songs of Innocence’ is set for release on Oct. 13th as a single CD, deluxe double CD and a white, 180-gram double-LP.

According to U2's website, the cover is of Larry Mullen, Jr as he "protects" his 18 year old son. it is said to resonate with the band's iconic debut alum 'Boy' from 1979, and the album 'War' which was released 4 years later.

People seem to be mocking this cover online. What are your thoughts?
