Remember the record-breaking warmth of yesterday? The windows open, no jacket needed, eat lunch outside weather was beautiful in mid-February, but we are definitely back to reality today.

While most of the Hudson Valley has seen some rain and sleet today, the National Weather Service has issued two weather statements for different counties in our area.

The first is a Winter Weather Advisory for Sullivan County until 6 pm tonight. According to the National Weather Service, you could see additional snow and sleet accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, with some icing as well. Some areas could see 4 inches or more. Plan on slippery road conditions, particularly for the evening commute with reduced visibilities.

The second is a Special Weather Statement for Ulster, Greene, Columbia, and Dutchess counties. According to the National Weather Service a band of heavy snow will impact these areas which could result in snow falling at the rate of half and inch to an inch per hour. This will result in hazardous travelling conditions with the possibility of reduced visibilities. Icy road conditions are also possible as the snow will melt as it hits the road but quickly freeze again.

Be safe on your commute home tonight.
