Two local gas stations want to put some free gas into your tank before the week is over.

This week, four different gas stations throughout the Hudson Valley have vowed to give out free gas cards to local residents. The "Tanksgiving" promotion is a way to give back to customers while collecting much-needed food for the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley.

The Boris & Robyn Show on 101.5 WPDH was broadcasting live on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from Flory's Shell on Route 52 in Hopewell Junction and the Mobil Foam and Wash on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie. Starting at 7 am each morning, crews accepted bags of non-perishable food items. In exchange for the donation, radio listeners walked away with a free gas card.

Usually, a one-day event, this year's Tanksgiving has expanded to four days to let more people get free gas cards while generating even more food donations to help our friends and neighbors right here in the Hudson Valley. This event has proven to be a true win-win for the community, stocking the food bank to the rafters while rewarding donors with free gas.

Tanksgiving continues this Thursday morning, November 15 at the Stewart's Shop on Route 9W in Milton and on Friday, November 16 at Flory's Mobil on Route 9 in Fishkill as we fill up our Ram 1500 truck with food donations. Starting at 7am each morning customers will be able to exchange their non-perishable food donations for a free gas card while supplies last.
