Two bridges in upper Dutchess County are closing this week for a paint job. The Department of Works will close the bridges temporarily for three days to ensure the safety of its workers.

Drivers on the Salt Point Turnpike will be detoured Wednesday, Aug. 12 through Friday, Aug. 14 as paint work is done on the S-39 bridge over the Willow Brook and the Bridge S-40 over the Wappinger Creek in the Stanford.

The bridges will reopen Friday afternoon. Expect crews to be on scene for an additional two weeks as the crews paint the underneath of the bridges.
