Turtle Goes Through Car Windshield in Freak Accident

It's not every day you hear about a turtle causing a car crash on the highway. Of course, when you're talking about the Sunshine State of Florida then anything is possible.

Click Orlando reports that the accident happened on I-4 on Monday near Deltona, Florida. Florida State Police say that the vehicle clipped the unlucky turtle which sent the animal into the air. The falling turtle then ended up going through the windshield of another passing vehicle.

Pictures of the turtle lying on the vehicle's windshield were all over social media

The good news is that neither the driver nor the turtle were seriously hurt. The woman who was behind the wheel was treated with some minor cuts. Officials say that Wildlife Officers checked out the turtle and that it was okay.

The animal was then released back to the wild.
