Tuesday, September 22: Rock n Roll Birthdays

Happy Birthday today (Sept. 22) to Joan Jett. The rocker is 57. Also celebrating today is Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale (64), Bulletboys singer Marq Torien (54), and singer Jesse James Dupree of Jackyl (53).

Joan Jett first had success in the 70's with The Runaways, and their hit 'Cherry Bomb. She would then go on to success with Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, achieving a number 1 hit with 'I Love Rock 'n' Roll' in 1982. Other popular recordings include 'Bad Reputation', 'I Hate Myself for Loving You' 'Crimson and Clover', and 'Do You Wanna Touch Me'.

Jett was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.
