Happy Birthday today to Kevin Cronin. The REO Speedwagon frontman is 64. Also celebrating today is bassist Tommy Stinson of Guns N' Roses and The Replacements (49), and guitarist Robert Sarzo of 80's metal band Hurricane (57).

Kevin Cronin and REO Speedwagon developed a following in the 1970's and achieved significant commercial success in the 1980's. Their 1980 album 'Hi Infidelity' was the band's best selling album with over 10 million in sales. The band has sold over 40 million records and had thirteen Top 40 hits. REO Speedwagon remains popular on the touring circuit.

It was announced last month, that former REO Speedwagon guitarist Gary Richrath died at the age of 65. No reason was given for the cause of death. Richroth had joined REO Speedwagon in 1970, prior to the release of the band's 1971 debut. Richroth contributed to the band's breakthrough and success in the late 70's. He wrote some of the band's biggest hits including 'Ridin' the Storm Out' and 'Take It on the Run'.
