Tuesday, October 27: Rock n Roll Birthdays

Happy Birthday today (Oct. 27) to Scott Weiland. The former frontman for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver is 48. Also celebrating today is former Judas Priest guitarist K.K. Downing (64), and bassist Garry Tallent (66). Tallent is the founding member of the E Street Band, Bruce Springteen's primary backing band since 1972.

Scott Weiland is best known as the former frontman for rock band Stone Temple Pilots along with supergroup Velvet Revolver from 2003-2008. He has also been an established solo artist since 1995 with four studio albums, a live album, and a covers album.

Weiland released his autobiography Not Dead and Not for Sale in 2011. He married photographer Jamie Wachtel, whom he met during a 2011 music video shoot, in 2013. Weiland plays the Gramercy Theater in NYC on Nov. 25. For more on Scott Weiland, check out his official website here.
