A train car left at the World Trade Center on 9/11 has arrived locally where it will be on display at the Trolley Museum of New York.

The Daily Freeman reports after the two World Trade Center buildings were struck, Port Authority employees evacuated on one last train away from the site. Another remained at Ground Zero when the towers fell. These train cars were moved and stored in a warehouse at JFK airport along with other items from the scene, before making it's way to the Hudson Valley.

The Trolley Museum was originally founded in Brooklyn in the mid 1950s but moved to its currently location at 89 East Strand in Kingston in 1983. The collection has grown from just four cars to now include a wide array including MTA cars, and trolleys from Chicago and Brussels. However, the trolley museum is closed for the rest of 2015. The museum will be open weekends and holidays May 7th through Columbus Day noon-5 in 2016.
