After one of the hottest and most uncomfortable weeks in years, the Hudson Valley is due for some relief.

You'll have to wait till the middle of the week however for any noticeable difference.

Monday will still be hot an humid, with partly cloudy skies and highs near 90 degrees. It won't be quite as miserable as Friday and Saturday, but the heat indices will still climb into the mid 90s by Monday afternoon.

Tuesday will bring a good chance for thunderstorms across the state, with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Some of the storms could be sever with heavy rain and damaging winds.

Any time it gets this hot and humid there's going to be chance for some rough weather. The good news is that the rain will bring some needed relief.

Highs by Thursday and Friday should stay in the 80s, but it will feel a lot less humid. Lows will be in the lower 60s.

This has already been one of the hottest summers on record in the Hudson Valley. Poughkeepsie has experienced twenty eight days with high temperatures over 90 degrees. That is the third highest amount of days on record where the temperature reached at least 90.
