You know how texting and driving is a super dumb thing to do and you shouldn't do it? Well, New York has been cracking down on it, and the result is that over the course of four years, tickets issued for texting and driving are up more than 200% in New York.

Yikes. That's a scary statistic. It is, of course, Distracted Driving Awareness Month, so it's important to understand how dangerous texting and driving can be. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, one in four accidents in the country are currently caused by texting and driving.

If you get pulled over for texting and driving in New York, you could be looking at a fine of $450 or even a suspension of your driver's license.
