An intense bus fire on the New York State Thruway was caught on camera Wednesday. The footage begins showing a Trailways bus engulfed in flames. The footage is taken via dashboard camera by the first arriving Chief officer, according to the description on the New Paltz Fire Department's YouTube Channel.

Shortly after arriving on the scene, officers can be heard making sure all the passengers are accounted for. Another bus had reportedly already come and picked up the 52 people and all were safe.

For the first five minutes of the video, the view of the blaze is unobstructed. At around the 5:30 mark, Engine 43-11 shows up to extinguish the bus. It is not known at this time what caused the fire.
