I don't know if you got to hear the rock news on The Boris and Robyn Show this week, but the biggest story was not a happy one.  Greg Lake lost his battle with cancer this week.  Greg was a founding member of King Crimson before forming Emerson, Lake, and Palmer with Carl Palmer and Keith Emerson, who died earlier this year.  2016 has been a tough year for rock and roll.

But there is also good news.  Congratulations to Mick Jagger and Melanie Hamrick on the birth of their son.  This is their first child together, but it's Mick's eighth child.  Mick also has grandchildren and a great grandchild.

The Grammy nominations were announced this week.  Congratulations to Bob Dylan, Metallica, Paul McCartney, Iggy Pop, Patti Smith, Peter Gabriel, and the late David Bowie on their nominations.  Speaking of Patti Smith, she will be standing in for Bob Dylan to accept his Nobel Prize on his behalf.

And it looks like Alice Cooper will be joining his old bandmates for a new album.  Alice, Dennis Dunaway, Neil Smith, and Michael Bruce have been writing a recording together since their surprise reunion at one of Dennis Dunaway's book signings last year.

We do rock news for you every weekday morning at 6:45 on The Boris and Robyn Show.  If you miss it, check back here for a recap.
