The Run For Home 5K to benefit The Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie is coming up this Sunday. Aug. 27. The Children's Home is a great organization that literally saves the lives of many children in the Hudson Valley. Boris and I got to visit them a couple of years ago, and we were so impressed we have made it one of our favorite charities.

The Run For Home 5k starts at the Dutchess Rail Trail parking lot at Van Wyck Lane and Lake Walton Road.  You don’t have to run, walkers are welcome.  Registration is at 7:15 am. The 12 and under kids race is at 8am.  The 5K run/walk starts at 8:45.  There will be awards, refreshments and face painting. Fun for the whole family! It’s a fun and healthy way to spend the day, and it’s all for a great cause.

You can get more information about the Run For Home 5k and about The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie at www.childrenshome.us or call 845 452-1420 ext. 177. See you Sunday.
